St. George's Day - Military Parade in Sofia

of May is the day of St. George in Bulgaria, but it is also celebrated
as the Day of Bravery and official Day of The Army. In Bulgarian army
this day has its today's look since 1931, but its celebration was
officially set 126 years ago, back in 1880 by edict No. 5 signed by
Knyaz (King) Alexander Batemberg.

Military parades were performed in Sofia for more
than 100 years even in years of war. This tradition was interrupted only
during the communist regime (1946-1992). This is how the parade on May 6th,
2006 passed.
